Why can I not open my database from a program originated from a third party, for example MS Access?

From the program 1.6.0. version we have an opportunity to protect our database by password. However, this option requires not to open the database with any other programs like MS Access.

There is no point in protecting your database by password if by using another program we can read its content easily. That is why from the 1.6.0. version the database of the program is protected from programs originated from a third party and its opening is only possible by the Free Address Book.

IMPORTANT: this password protection is only related to other programs. The user can reach its data any time by the Free Address Book. It can be protected by a password, but this password can be set and switched off by the user. You can read more about this at "How does the password protection work?" title.
