- Where can I find the database file?
After the program installed, you can find the database file in the user's folder. This is:- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[user's folder]\Application Data\GAS Softwares\Free Address Book\AddressBook.mdb
- Vista, Windows 7: C:\Users\[users's folder]\AppData\Roaming\GAS Softwares\Free Address Book\AddressBook.mdb
- Can I move the database file to another path/place?
Yes, you can move it, but in this version, you can do that by manualy.
The program has two parts. The first part, is program folder (these are the program files: C:\Program Files\GAS Softwares\Free Address Book), and the second is database file, which you can move anywhere, where you want. But, if you move the database file, you have to write the new path to the program config file (AddressBook.exe.config).
Open it, in one text editor (for example: Notepad) and find this section:
connectionString="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Documents and
Settings\[user's folder]\Application Data\GAS Softwares\Free Address Book
\AddressBook.mdb"
Here, in Data Source section, delete the old path and write the new one. After that, just save the file.
If you want to use the program on USB flash drive, or in other removable (portable) drive, that is the best way, if you move the database file to the program folder. In this case, write this to the config file:
connectionString="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=|DataDirectory|
\AddressBook.mdb"
Note: We are going to add this feature in the next releases, and you can do that from program. - Is it possible to export my contact list from Free Address Book, and if yes, how can I do that?
In currently version (1.2), you can't export your contact list. We are going to add this feature in the next releases. - How can I backup my database file?

Yes, you can use it, and you can share it. Move the database file to one shared network folder, and rewrite the config files (as you can see in answer 2), on all clients, where you want to use the program. - Can I import my Windows Outlook contacts into Free Address Book?
